TripAdvisor is a great way for people to review restaurants, cafes, hotels ect... People can look up the establishment they are considering using and check out the reviews. 

In theory this is a fantastic way of supporting buisnesses and helping customers with their choices... however it feels in recent years that TripAdvisor are taking very little responsibility for the facility been abused or used as a weapon against the hospitality trade....

Literally anyone can make an a fake account using any email address, the set up only takes a few minutes and people do not have to have any proof they even used the establishment...

I have seen many reviews that don't match the rating given. I have also seen staff been personally abused on the website and yet TripAdvisor take no responsibility and have very little regard for the mental abuse issued.

This page can easily be used by disgruntled ex employees or disgruntled members of the public that have not even been inside the buildings...

The page is clearly geared up towards to user and has very little regard for the buisnesses it targets....

The website "claims" that if you feel there "fake" review or a review that does not meet guidelines then it will remove it. But after speaking to so many people in the trade they have found it very difficult to have the reviews looked in to.

The hospitality buisness is on its knees and with restaurants closing daily it would be good to see TripAdvisor do something positive to support buisnesses. 

I feel if claims are major like "this restaurant gave me food poisoning" or this hotel was filthy" which could be majorly damaging to their buisnesses then it should be followed up on by TripAdvisor.

I also think if a user signs up and abuses the system by leaving nothing but 1 star reviews then the account should be looked in to?

Maybe nothing will come up of this petition but if I don't try I will never know. I'm just trying to support my fellow buisnesses folk in these trying times.please keep this petition a positive place. 

I am not targeting TripAdvisor or any employees but I am asking them to tighten there guidelines
