Co-pays for outpatient therapy services are an undue burden to patients. Co-pays can quickly become a financial liability to those receiving therapy services due to recovery requiring multiple treatments per week over several weeks, months or years. Often, this will result in patients having to stop treatment before it is safe for them to do so or not start at all.

Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy services represent a broad spectrum of care that enables its patients to live safe, more functional and productive lives. These therapies are a unique and valuable branch of healthcare that should not be limited by financial stress on the patient that is disproportionately levied by insurance companies that require co-pays for these services.

Ending co-pays for outpatient therapy services will allow patients to participate in these recovery-based services unhindered by financial penalty. More consistent participation in therapy also produces economic relief on the health care system by lowering the need for medication, surgeries, hospital stays and emergency room visits.

Please show your support by signing this petition to end co-pays for outpatient therapy related services and allow people to receive the care they need without additional financial requirement.
