Greetings!  My name is Ronnie Dixon and I’m 46 years old, and I’ve been incarcerated in federal prison for 17 years of my life.  I was charged with Conspiracy with the Intent to Distribute 15 kilos of Cocaine.  One would think by the said charge that I was a big time drug dealer, when in fact, I was a long time drug addict and petty criminal who was set up by the Government in what is called a Stash House Sting.

These Stash House stings involve informants and ATF agents going into poverty stricken, low income black communities and luring addicts and petty criminals into robbing a nonexistent drug house of its drugs and money, even if you say “no”, they keep trying to persuade you to commit this made up crime.  You are told that there are 20 kilos of cocaine in these houses and loads of cash, and the reason they are saying this specific amount is for sentencing reasons, because once you agree to rob this house that never existed, you are charged with the 20 kilos and are given a life sentence in federal prison.  IN LEGAL TERMS, THIS IS CALLED SENTENCING MANIPULATION.  These cases are racially profiling blacks and latinos all over the country in what some are calling a modern day lynching or a war on the black and Latino community.

An investigation by USA TODAY in 2013 found that the ATF had more than tripled its use of stash-house stings, frequently ensnaring small-time criminals in the process.  In at least one case, agents had to supply their would-be armed robbers with a gun.  The stings left at least seven suspects dead.

An investigation by USA TODAY in 2014 found that the stings overwhelmingly targeted minorities. At least 91% of the people agents charged nationwide were racial or ethnic minorities.

In summary, what is happening with the judicial system concerning the practice of these stash house robberies is WRONG!  The men who they target are not choir boys by any means, but does this give the federal government the okay to make up a crime that never existed in order to get a conviction of a life sentence in federal prison and in some cases death?  Is this fair? Is this justice?  Even though I know this practice is wrong and racially motivated, 'WHICH IS FACT', I still feel as if I should have received some time for being so foolish in my addiction, but 27 YEARS of my life for basically agreeing to rob a non-existent drug house that was created in the minds of the ATF agents and informants, was not an appropriate sentence to say the least.  I'm a father, a son and a brother, I have a family that still doesn’t understand why I have been gone from them this long for what I was indicted and charged for.  I, now, come to you, THE PUBLIC, so that we can shed light on this malicious practice and put an end to it.
