Your local fire departments need your help!

We are looking for residents that live with in the areas of Perry Twp. (outside the city limits), Washington Twp. (outside the city limits), Eel River Twp. and the Town of Huntertown to help sign a petition!

The townships of Perry, Eel River, and Washington along with the Town of Huntertown are joining forces to create the Northwest Fire Protection District. We need your help by signing a petition (and including your address) saying that you support this.

Why is this needed and what will be the big change?!? 
- Create additional career staffing to ensure more coverage for the ever rising call volume and population. 
- To help lower insurance costs on your property with the ISO ratings.
- Add additional ambulances and paramedics.
- Meet the ever rising demands of public safety along with public education for safety. 
- Adding additional staffing to fire trucks to ensure firefighter safety and efficiency on emergency scenes through increased manpower.

This change will introduce new ways of operations and funding through fine tuning taxes to better reflect the ever growing population. By creating this fire district, we will be able to better plan for our current needs while allowing for areas of growth as our community changes.

These changes in taxes to support the new fire protection district will reflect a change of $0.16 per $100 of net assessed value. Therefore, if you're net assessed value is $300,000, you'll see a payment of $266.10 which is only $0.73 a day for increased staffing and coverage for fire protection along with added paramedic services. 

No body likes to see changes, but in the name of public safety and protection for your family, these type of changes are needed. The current departments are doing their best to give the best services possible, but the time has come to improve things even further. With you're support, we can make this happen. 

When filling out the petition, we must have your address in order to make the signature count to show you live in the area impacted by this change.
