Petition to Abolish the Indian Act of Canada
A petition to end chronic Native dependency and despair and the historic wasting of tax monies in Canada.
- Prime Minister of Canada
Rt. Honorable Stephen Harper
- Member of Parliament Calgary Southwest
- Leader, Conservative Party of Canada / Chef, Parti Conservateur du Canada
WHEREAS the Aboriginal Reserve system deprives Canadian Natives of the means and motives for their own prosperity and self-government; and
WHEREAS the political culture on said Reserves defies Canadian norms of competence, transparency, equality, and accountability; and
WHEREAS the People of Canada have recently been ordered to become stewards of vast new numbers of off-Reserve people claiming Native or Mixed blood; and
WHEREAS the People of Canada refuse to further subscribe to, or sustain, with their financial resources, an Act that has never procured progress or prosperity;
BE IT RESOLVED that the Parliament of Canada abolish the so-called Indian Act of Canada; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Canadian Aboriginal People of all descriptions be invited to participate in Canadian society without distinction as to race or origin, as soon as is materially possible.
