The statue titled "Sentinel - Mami Wata" located on the grounds at Lee Circle in the City of New Orleans was placed without the approval of the citizens of the city. Furthermore, city officials proclaim the intent of the statue is to promote unity and pay homage to African American history as a presence of the African diaspora in the city of New Orleans.  Moreover, the City also proclaims the "Sentinel - Mami Wata" statue represents African American ancestry of New Orleans citizens, black women, and city officials.

The titled “Sentinel” is taken from the French, Italian and Latin word “sentinella or sentire” meaning to perceive, to hear, watch” (Retrieved from: https://www.etymonline.com/word/sentinel,January 23, 2022).  According to Mehouenou, "Mami Wata is not just some fetish, she is the queen of the water. She lives in the sea." She is the ships' god and natural spirits along with respect to revered ancestors of  the Voodoo religion” (Retrieved from Josue’ Mehouenou, January 11, 2022, https://news.yahoo.com/beninese-pray-voodoos-sea-goddess
). In other words, she is a pagan idol; Mami Wata is a voodoo goddess worshipped by Western Africans and she represents perversion, prosperity, and many other demonic forces. According to La Sirene a book author, Mami Wata is of the “Sibyls” who were known to call up the dead as they are referred to in the book of I Samuel 28:1-16 (KJV) of the bible (https://www.africanamerica.org/.../new-book-says-african
). In short, the statue is demonic and represents spirits of the dark world. For your information, satanic worship comes in many forms and must be received through free will. Once New Orleans leaders accepted the statue and placed it upon the grounds of the city satanic forces were freely welcomed to join the evil ever so present.

We the believers of Jesus Christ, believe the "Sentinel - Mami Wata" statue is an insult to the black women in New Orleans and the African American community wholly, in that there are no black women who look like the statue as a naked woman, with a snake wrapped around the body with no head.  In addition, we the believers of Jesus Christ, believe the "Sentinel - Mami Wata" statue promotes a message that black women in New Orleans have no head as in not having the ability to think, are uneducated, and are naked without a covering alluding to seduction and promiscuity, whom walk around naked worshiping snakes as in demonic connotations. Furthermore, we the believers of Jesus Christ believe the "Sentinel - Mami Wata" statue degrades black women promoting a statement that the black women of New Orleans are seen as voodooists practicing witchcraft and evil spirituality.

We the believers of Jesus Christ, believe black women in New Orleans are much more than the message the "Sentinel- Mami Wata" statue promotes, and we believe it is an insult to the African American citizens of New Orleans.

We the believers of Jesus Christ, demand the Mayor of New Orleans and the City Council take DOWN the "Sentinel - Mami Wata" statute immediately.  We demand a landscape free of ALL symbols and statues promoting segregation, discrimination, separation of humankind through religion, race, and gender.
