Stop Mosman Council using parking sensors for revenue raising
This petition had 459 supporters
Mosman Council introduced parking sensors into the shopping precinct in 2015 to monitor parking habits of shoppers. Fair enough.
At this time they agreed not to use them for enforcement purposes.
Council is now looking to change policy and use the parking sensors for enforcement purposes.
This means that the parking sensor would send a text message to the Parking Ranger as your parking time limit is about to expire.
The Ranger can then be in place to issue you a fine the moment your parking time limit expires.
This is bad for shoppers who are running a little late because they stopped to chat with a friend or the Post Office was busy or there was a queue at the supermarket checkout.
This is bad for retail as shoppers will choose other centres that offer 3 hour parking and don’t overpolice parking fines for revenue raising purposes.
Sign this petition to send a clear message to your local council representatives that you love Mosman’s village atmosphere and don’t want it spoilt by council greed.
