Petition for council to put traffic lights/Round about  at the corner of Deane Street and Narara Valley Drive The corner of Deane Street and Narara Valley Drive has been dangerous for many years. There have been numerous accidents and near misses. The corner is one of only 2 ways to get out of that area of Narara and there is poor visibility. This is made more dangerous because it’s a place where school kids and elderly residents cross to get to the train station and parents drop off children at the pre-school centre/dog groomers on Deane st . Its also an area where teens drive to high school. The road is extremely busy because of the volume of trucks and cars using it, and the number of people trying to get in and out of the area at the same time.  the council  made speed limit 50   how ever this is not working  at all .When turning off Deane st  to go on to narara valley drive  its impossible for drivers to see  when busses and trucks are  blocking the view  This makes the junction extremely dangerous. I spoke to then local member Lucy Wicks some years ago and she agreed that it was an issue and discussed solutions. However no solutions were ever implemented. I think that we need to petition the current local member, Dr Gordon Reid, to implement traffic lights/round about  at this dangerous junction to help keep us and our children safe.
