Planting fruit trees in public areas

Over the last few years we have noticed some social and environmental issues within the Auckland Community. Some of the issues we would like to fix are....
- Students not having enough food at school which can negatively affect their learning
- Healthy foods are not as easily accessible as other unhealthy alternatives
- Climate change caused by too much CO2 in the atmosphere
In order to try and fix or improve these issues we have come up with the idea to try and get the Auckland Council to plant fruit trees in public areas such as Berms, Parking lot gardens, Public reserves and National Parks. We feel like the Council should start planting more fruit trees because the fruit could be collected and then donated to local charities or schools.
