For the skating community of the Olean area
we believe that there is a need for an outdoor public skatepark. A lot of us are tired of simply skating around empty lots and parking lots around Olean. We think that
there should be an outdoor skatepark with
ramps, rails, and stairs put in at one of the
many empty lots in Olean. It would keep kids
and teens out of dangerous areas when
they're skating. With proper ramps, rails, etc.
and not unsafe ramps that they build in their
backyards, it would keep kids safer and
reduce the risk of injury. With only one indoor skatepark in the area (which is located in Allegany, New York) not all kids have a way to and from the skatepark without a car or walking a long distance along the highway.
