Petition for Rockaway Landing

Support Establishing a Special Mixed Use Waterfront Zoning District between 108th and 116th Street in Rockaway Beach.

The Waterfront in Rockaway Beach is our community's single greatest economic and cultural asset. Although tides are starting to change, its potential has long been suppressed by antiquated city zoning regulations. The successful launch of the NYC Ferry has brought greater attention to our Waterfront than ever before but the Zoning that exists along the commercial area on Jamaica Bay surrounding Rockaway Landing has not been updated since the land was first built on over 100 years ago. The time for investment and a modern approach toward developing a resilient waterfront that serves our community as a whole is now. Join the conversation about building the vibrant Waterfront District our community deserves.

This petition will be delivered to:
  • President NYC Economic Development Corporation
    James Patchett
  • Senior Planner - Waterfront Team Leader at NYC Department of City Planning
    Brendan Pillar
  • New York State Senator District 15
    Senator Joseph Addabbo Jr.
