As residents we appeal to Brent Council to address the dangerous state of the road and pavements on The Avenue.

The pavements have significant defects and in places are buckled and jagged causing multiple trip hazards which make the walkway unsafe, particularly for elderly and disabled residents and young children.  The road is also in desperate need of resurfacing with many potholes, defects to speed humps and many uneven stretches. Injection patching is not a solution, with 2019’s injection patching failing soon after application spreading loose gravel over the roadway.

We also request sinusoidal humps replace the ineffective cushions, which vehicles regularly swerve round at very high excess speeds.  We support the relaying of slabs for pavements, and are against their replacement with climate-costly, unsightly asphalt.

We call on the Highways team to urgently prioritise The Avenue for pavement and road resurfacing in order to make this area safe and accessible for everyone.
