Petition for Repair and Resurfacing of Flintridge Road and Cordwood Ave., County of Fresno
Petition for Repair and Resurfacing of Flintridge Road and Cordwood Ave., County of Fresno
Why this petition matters
We, the homeowners of Flintridge Road and Cordwood Ave., County of Fresno, are petitioning the County of Fresno for resurfacing/rebuilding and maintenance of the aforementioned county roads.
The lack of maintenance of our roads has gone back for decades. Many residents have individually contacted the county with concerns over the roads. Several have filed claims for repairs to their vehicles/equipment because of the hazardous and unsafe conditions on these roads.
The county has maintained that they will not repair the roads because of ongoing water supply issues underneath the roads. However, this lack of road repair and maintenance is short-sighted as it hastens and worsens the water supply issues currently facing our tract. The water system is not going to be replaced in the foreseeable future. Thus, the excuse for not repairing the roads is just that, an excuse.
We request that, at a minimum, repairs be done to the uneven roadway at the bottom of Cordwood Ave., as well as repairs around all sewer manholes and the improvement of the road at the top of Flintridge Road which provides the only access to our community water tank. We expect the same quality of roads that are provided to all areas of Fresno County.
The roads have become hazardous and unsafe, even in the best of weather. The roads are uneven, cracked, and unsafe not only for drivers, but pedestrians as well. In the winter the roads become icy and nearly impassable due to the rough nature of the roadway. In the summer the bumpy and uneven surface is ripe for trips and falls for pedestrians.
We, as taxpayers of Fresno County, deserve and demand safe roads.
