Despite the resumption of face-to-face classes, I, Mishka Ydemne, started this petition to give students the option of taking online classes. We're not sure if the Covid19 was still present at this point. As a result, we should provide opportunities for students who live far away and have difficulty traveling due to certain requirements, as well as for students who prioritize safety and allow parents to worry less. There are students who are stuck abroad and must meet certain requirements to travel; DEPED should make this an option so that students and parents can choose which school their children attend and which they can still continue to study. Online classes also help parents ensure their child's safety because they can monitor them at home. School activities frequently include group work; in this case, instructors can divide their online students into teams to work on projects collaboratively and interact using the discussion tool. As a result, it is up to each student in the group to keep up with the work and do their part at home. It would also benefit students because there are more resources available on websites than in school libraries. As with face-to-face classes, there is usually a textbook from which assigned readings are assigned, as well as supplemental resources provided by the instructor. An online course, on the other hand, necessitates additional extensive reading that is not always included in a face-to-face course. All lecture documents, discussion postings, student-to-student and student-to-instructor interactions, course announcements, and assignments must be written and acquired by the student through reading. Much of the work that must be completed in an online course is done at the student's own pace. While there are deadlines and due dates that must be met, students usually have a lot of leeway in terms of where and when they participate. As in the current situation with online classes, I am petitioning for DEPED and schools to keep this option.
