Jury members need to pass a comprehension test before deliberation begins to confirm that they understood the evidence presented to them by both the defense and the state. There should also be basic classes in the law of that state as it regards to that particular case before a trial begins with mandatory testing to confirm each jury member's understanding of the law as it relates to the case presented to them. In addition, there should be post trial testing to insure the jury members understood all witness testimony, evidence and arguments that were presented to them. Jury members should not be able to deliberate until they have passed the each test confirming they are capable of proceeding.

Mandatory Comprehension Testing for Jury Members

Jury members need to pass a comprehension test at the end of a trial and before deliberation begins to confirm that they understood the evidence presented by both the defense and the state. There should be instructional classes in the law before a trial begins and post trial testing to insure the jury members understood all evidence and arguments that was presented to them. Jury members should not be able to deliberate until they have passed the test confirming they are capable of proceeding.
