I’m signing because the incarnation system is so tilted in favor of what works for everyone else . Except those that are stuck there in that system that shows so little humanity or reward for anything or anyone.

Everybody talks about wanting to support/help others to rehabilitate. Giving people a reason to want to strive to do better is a great way. I believe in this.

I hope we can really get a movement on this, my wife is in the bop system with credits waiting to be applied to come home soon, with out this everything she has done has been for nothing. She is in the puppy program, taking classes, and has so many certificates. Hope this can go a long way! Thanks for signing!

Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) asked A.G. Merrick Garland on May 5, 2021 to Fix First Step Act Earned Time Credit Implementation Disparities and Timely Application Failures created by the Trump Administration and A.G. William Barr. To date, President Biden's A.G. Garland has done nothing to fix the problems identified for him almost 6 months ago by written letter from the Senate. This utter failue demands justice as a basis liberty interest conferred by Congress directly to those that are now being harmed as a result. These failures have been on the table for 3 years now, and are just getting worse daily. See this Link for the May 5, 2021 Letter from Senators Durbin and Grassley to A.G. Merrick Garland: https://www.grassley.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/durbin_grassley_to_doj_-_earned_time_credit_rule.pdf
If A.G. Garland ignored Senator Durbin's and Senator Grassley's Letter (keeping in mind they are on the same team, and President Biden has touted 2021 Criminal Justice Reform publicly), he does not intend to fix the time credits injustice without being Ordered to fix it. A.G. Garland has authority to issue a Directive to the BOP requiring the BOP to Apply all time credits earned from 2019-2021 NOW. If no Directive is issued to the BOP, then Congressional action will be required. All of those that are being directly harmed, including Americans in BOP custody, their families, and BOP Vendors providing First Step Act incentive recidivism reduction programs and productive activities, should be signing this Petition. There is no more "incentive" in "incentive programming" as identified in the Durbin-Grassley letter, because the BOP has eviscerated "incentive" destroying major core tenets of the First Step Act completely.

Florida requires prison reform. It’s a broken system. It’s a broken system throughout America.
