Petition for a New Nashua North / Souhegan Varsity High School Hockey Coach

Problem:

I have talked with several parents and players that have been displeased with the head coaching efforts in developing our children over the last couple of years.  Speaking with many of the parents there is a great displeasure with the head coach.  I have been told by a few players that if John is coach next year they will not play for the high school, and instead play community or other hockey programs.

It is important for our community  that we keep sports programs alive in our schools.  Our schools & communities need to ensure our teachers and coaches will work with our kids to excel and develop our children properly. Most importantly,  we need to ensure that the athletic managers are aware of our concerns.

Though we cannot dictate exactly what coach is offered the position, we can ensure those making the decision of employing the coaching staff are aware of our concerns. The more people that become involved the more likely they will accept resumes for a new coach.  Perhaps it would be beneficial to have a parent or 2 involved in the interviewing process and provide our input.  Many of us have spent the last 10+ years in and around hockey rinks and we all want what is best for our kids and community. Whom better to assist?

Help to ensure that the athletic departments again accept resumes for the position of Nashua North High School / Souhegan Hockey coach.

Ensure the community, team and new players that the Athletic Departments will  seek a new varsity hockey coach that will work on the key fundamental aspects of the game of hockey including,

Team building
Leadership skills and abilities
Personal and team development
...as well as other important skills, traits, and ethics the game of hockey is meant to teach.
