PETITION: DepEd should reintroduce Philippine History Subjects to Secondary Education

PETITION: DepEd should reintroduce Philippine History Subjects to Secondary Education
Why this petition matters
Just like what were been viral on social media showing the PBB housemates' knowledge about Philippine history. Instead of saying "GomBurZa", they said "MaJoHa" which is wrong. When they've been asked about Tandang Sora, they don't know what to answer or in short, they don't know her. They've also been asked about what's the nickname of Dr Jose Rizal and they answered "J. Rizal". It is sad and disappointing that the present generation no longer knows the important details of Philippine history. Knowing these people who contributed to our Philippine history should be common knowledge to the Filipino people but as generations passed by, youth slowly forget our country's history.
It's our duty as Filipino people to honour the contributions and sacrifices of our heroes. Not only about those who contributed but also about the events that happened before. We should make changes so that we can preserve the knowledge of passing generations about Philippine history or else all of these will be completely forgotten. Department of Education should bring back subjects that concern Philippine history so that even in high school, students can still be refresh about our history.
I still believe in this quote in which Dr Jose Rizal said:
"Ang kabataan ay ang pag-asa ng bayan."
