Petition Congress to Enact Sensible and Inclusive Immigration Reform

Immigration studies have shown that immigrants not only contribute positively to the U.S. economy but are vital to the future economic growth of this country. Many of these immigrants have lived in the U.S. for an average of ten years, they have U.S. born children, pay taxes, and have no criminal records. The American Dream belongs to those that have earned it through their dedication, hard labor, and love for the country. A second chance for these individuals is in the hands of Congress, and we are urging our representatives to do the will of the people. It is a fact that many Americans approve the passage of the DREAM Act. We are simply asking Congress to extend their immigration policies to those parents of U.S. born children and DACA recipients. Ultimately striving to fix our broken immigration system that has, for many years, failed those committed to pursuing the American ideals through legal means.
As the daughter of immigrants and a recipient of DACA, it is my hope that immigrant families are not separated by deportation. I personally know the fear that many of us live in. It is, truly, my dream that one day we can all come out of the shadows, creating an opportunity for 11 million undocumented immigrants to lead productive lives and help strengthen the United States as contributing members of our society.
