Rise And Shine Day Nursery is a small privately owned setting in Peterborough, located on Jack Hunt School grounds. It provides early years care for children aged from 3 months to school starting age. It has been open for 15 years and has had generations of families go through the journey with them. Parents trust this nursery with the care and education of their loved ones and "couldn't trust anyone else looking after their children".
Recently, Jack Hunt School have decided they want the building back which legally they own. The lease which was agreed on has come to an end and the school do not wish to renew it... after claiming they would not just "chuck them out" when recently expressing concern that agreements were not officially in writing. They revealed they require the building as an exclusion centre for those children who chose to throw away their education, compromising that of the next generation.
This nursery has provided care for children from all backgrounds, including those who receive government funding for childcare. There are families who rely on this nursery as part of their community for many reasons such as geographical convenience. The nursery acts as a support network for all families who attend and staff members put their whole heart into the care of others. If the nursery was to shutdown parents would face extra financial and emotional pressure in finding alternative childcare, with the addition of extra transport fees.
All over the news we hear about the problems with trusted, reliable childcare and the level of education they provide. The government and city council also say they want to support small local businesses and encourage others too as well, so why let this thriving business, with amazing reports and an outstanding reputation be taken away for nothing but a centre for children with no care for their education... or that of others. This is truly a nursery at the heart of the lives of many, with family orientated and caring values surrounding it.
If this nursery closes down think of the poor children who will have no choice but to leave education. These children are settled into an amazing stimulating environment, with caring staff and their first group of friends. Why cause unnecessary unrest for young impressionable children when really they need stability and a place they feel safe in. The nursery is run by a self-less single parent who has dedicated her whole life to the business and the care of others children. She and all her hardworking, dedicated and caring colleagues hope with all their hearts a solution can be found and Rise and Shine Day Nursery can continue to grow and thrive.
Please show your support for the children, parents, staff and community who need this nursery more than anything. We really need Jack Hunt School to realise the impact they will have on so many people. We need them to reconsider and discuss alternative options that could allow the nursery to continue for the sake of the children who love attending Rise and Shine Day Nursery!
