End prejudice against single parents who rent and receive benefit top-ups

I am a single parent. I'm also a professional. This seems like a contradiction in terms to many landlords. I work part time so I can care for my child and am lucky enough to receive a small top-up each month of housing benefit. BUT I cannot rent a flat because most landlords' insurance doesn't cover tenants on housing benefit. How are parents like me meant to house our families with these ridiculous insurance policies in place? I demand an end to this prejudice. I am a working parent. Not a second class citizen.
I am calling on my local MP to help me escalate this issue, which is stopping thousands of families like mine from getting a home. Ultimately, I want these unfair insurance policies scrapped and replaced with fairer policies for hardworking single parents.
