Give Emmylou Harris an honorary doctorate at the University of North Carolina Greensboro

Emmylou Harris is an icon of American music with thirteen Grammy wins and many more nominations. She also attended The University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG) starting in 1965 on a theater scholarship. She was active both in theater and music and arguably started her music career on Greensboro's own Tate St. While she never finished her degree, UNCG would be hard-pressed to find a musician and artist more representative of the best qualities of UNCG's School of Music, Theater, Dance, and Visual Arts. For this reason, and based on the fact that Greensboro is currently the home of the International Folk Festival it seems beholden on the administration of UNCG's School of Music, Theater, Dance, and Visual Arts to grant her an honorary doctorate.
