Perth & Kinross council has placed the planters/Coners in the High Street. We, 95% of the local businesses/shopkeepers feel that the measures taken are a waste of the rate payers’ money. The reason being that this part of the High Street is a Commercial Street and blocking it for Parking badly affects the local businesses and shopkeepers which is already going through a tough time due to lockdown. Local businesses/shopkeepers do not feel that the elected members realize the difficulty local shops are facing with this road closure which many of us objected to but, our objections seem to have been ignored.
High Street shops get many disabled customers and they are finding it difficult to get to our shops and business is bad enough without losing more customers. Local Shopkeepers are seriously concerned about the impact of these measures on our High Street businesses which are still trying to recover from the lock down.

We would request that these planters be removed in the first stage and then consultation meetings be called with the local businesses to listen to their concerns for now and the future to find a viable solution for the spread of Covid‐19 which can be minimized and our businesses continue to function without any disturbances.
