Garry Stagg started this petition to Perth & Kinross council

·         Logierait village lies on the A827, a main route from the A9 to Aberfeldy and the West.

·         The present speed limit through the village is 40 mph.

·         The footway lies on one side of the road only.

·         Children in the village travelling to Breadalbane Academy must cross this route up to three times in a day to access the school bus.

·         Traffic at such times is usually busy and includes tractors, buses and HGVs.

·         Disabled people and the elderly must cross the road to access the footway.

The Community Council has requested that Perth and Kinross Council take action and reduce the speed limit in the village of Logierait, in common with other communities in the area. It has also requested that the limit between the A9 and the village itself be reduced to 40 mph.

By signing this petition, you will support our Community Council and show the Local Authority that:

1.    the neighbourhood is behind this initiative;

2.    this is a very real road-safety need;

3.    urgent action needs to be taken;

Both family pets and wildlife have been struck by vehicles. Without this simple and cost-effective measure, a serious, life-threatening or fatal incident involving a member of the public is increasingly likely.
