PepsiCo and Mars Incorporated: Halt the sale of Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben food products!

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

For too long, companies have been profiteering off of racial epithets and caricatures in order to sell product.

Uncle Tom is one such racial epithet that continues to be used in 2020 to sell microwaveable rice in the form of the Uncle Ben caricature. Mars Incorporated continues to peddle this illustration of African Americans for profit

Mammy is another African American caricature that PepsiCo peddles in the form of Aunt Jemima. The name, “Jemima,” in and of itself is offensive.

It is of the utmost importance that both PepsiCo and Mars Incorporated recognize the damage that they are contributing to African Americans. Therefore, both companies should look to modernize their brands by removing the Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben caricatures from breakfast food and rice products.

A great opportunity for progression is available to PepsiCo and Mars Incorporated in this moment. Please join me in signing this petition to stop the sale of food products that use racist labeling.
