PepsiCo, Coca Cola, and Dr. Pepper: Stop adding flame retardants to our drinks

PepsiCo has bowed to public pressure and removed brominated vegetable oil from Gatorade because of possible dangerous health effects. I drink Mountain Dew, and I was shocked to read that PepsiCo is keeping this ingredient in Mountain Dew. Coca Cola is keeping it in Powerade and Fresca, and Dr. Pepper is keeping it in Squirt and Snapple Sunkist Peach Soda. If it's potentially unhealthy and now removed from Gatorade, why should it be kept in these other popular drinks? Brominated vegetable oil is a patented flame retardant used in plastics.
