60 million water bottles are thrown away each day, 80% ends up in landfills, 10% ends up in our oceans, and the other 10% as litter. For every 6 bottles you buy only 1 is recycled and in a year only 12% gets recycled a year. For a single bottle it takes up to 1000 years to decompose. These bottles are causing fossil fuel production due to the polyethylene terephthalate that they get made with.

    To fix this we should only use glass, aluminum, and cardboard and your own reusable bottle. These are all very effective ways to fix this problem. In order for companies to make a change they need to feel the effect of people not using plastic bottles. We need to convince companies affected in order for them to stop making there products.

   Plastic bottles cause a lot of harm to the world and effect everything. Every single person that makes the choice to stop using plastic bottles can and will make a difference.
