PEPCO is the power company that serves much of Maryland and the District of Columbia. The company has neglected its infrastructure and cut down on its maintenance staff for decades, and that has left the company's electrical infrastructure vulnerable to the increasingly bad storms in the Mid-Atlantic region. Power outages routinely go on for days at a time, and sometimes longer. And yet PEPCO can make up any revenue losses by raising rates over the rest of the year. This company needs to play fair and be prepared.
