I am a Para swimmer and founder of para Sports Association Mumbai, sports is my passion. I belong to a humble family and not able to afford costly private transport system. I want to go swimming pool daily but due to inaccessible public transport facilities i am not able to make it. In Mumbai more than 30+ wheelchair friendly BEST buses are available but not functioning on road. We para sports association Mumbai request BEST authority to make buses funtioifunc on Mumbai roads.Railway ,Local train and station are not accessible for people with disabilities. We want to go shopping, restaurant, education, sports, beaches, visit our friends and family etc. but just because of inaccessible public transport facilities we feel disabled. We have right to education, right to play, right to live independently. People with disabilities feel frustrated and more disabled when they are not getting chance to go out and explore their self owing to inaccessible transport system. This is not only my problem but more than 30 millions people with disabilities in India. Accessible public transport facilities is not only important for people with disabilities but also for old age, pregnant women, children etc. On top of all this things it important #Becauseweexist. We urge railway ministry to make railway station and local train accessible for people with disabilities.
