The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines – Surigao Wensie Chapter would like to take this opportunity as a call to arms to fight together in this battle were are facing against a common enemy – COVID 19 and all its variants.

According to Social Weather Station, in the survey they conducted in September 2020, only 66% of Filipinos are willing to be vaccinated, with 32% definitely would get, 34% would probably get. 31% of adult Filipinos have expressed they will not get vaccinated while 17% remain undecided. Without vaccines, we are at risk of serious illnesses and disabilities, even death from diseases. Getting vaccinated serves two purposes: protecting ourselves and those around us. Because not everyone can be vaccinated – such as extremely young babies, people who are critically unwell, or those who have particular allergies – they rely on others to be protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.

VACCA NEMEN!? is a social media campaign to raise vaccination confidence among Filipinos in order to help minimize the stigma over the vaccine hesitancy among Filipinos as a result of the Dengvaxia controversy. Amplifying the Department of Health (DOH)’s message: “The best vaccine is the vaccine in your arm.” Supports the local LGU PIO, and helps ease the burden of local frontliners in spreading awareness about the benefits of the vaccine. It also helps promote the Sustainable Development Goal 3, regarding "Good Health and Well-being", being one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in 2015. "To ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages."

In line with this, we would like YOU to be part of this cause in playing a role as active citizens towards positive change, that in this movement we may be able to help our community in ways that we can, like providing information of the benefits of getting the COVID-19 vaccine and encouraging the society to do so otherwise, missing the shots we don’t take.
