Would you like to save your neighborhood and maybe even the county from rampant and unrestrained development?

• Traffic congestion that only gets worse
• Too many people crammed in a small area

This list goes on, doesn’t it?

Here is what’s happening in my back yard and in the neighborhood’s back yard.  We had the perception that an objection to this development doesn’t matter and that the code for “growth” as written by the county and our state government makes this so.  Regardless, if enough citizens and neighbors proclaim that the codes should be changed the great potential for change lives.  It comes down to letting those that rule know that neighborhood and community values require the equal protection developers have in this county.   

Will you help me and my neighbors?  If you ask us, we're willing to help you. There's over 100 of us here who have already signed a petition to stop this development which will forever ruin this area. Forest trees will be cut down and buffer zones will be obliterated which will further contribute to erosion, flooding and the temperature change associated with that. The waterways affected by this imposition will also cause the further degradation of Ruggs Lake which is already deemed to be a Category 5. It’s already bad enough, and it only gets worse with the runoff from the development.  The Department of Ecology was supposed to have cleaned these lakes up but doesn't have enough money to do it. What rational community-minded person would allow these types of adverse and permanent consequences? This development will also "require" a 1,000 foot + sewer line to be dropped in between two retaining walls which will be about 700 feet long. This elevated sewer road has to be built that way because it doesn't make natural grade!  What does that tell us?  This sewer line is to be built according to an easement that the Silver Lake Water and Sewer District approved without any consultation with the neighborhood and community or consideration of the adverse effects this most unusual structure will cause. I confirmed that the sewer district did not exercise in their own words, "due diligence" in approving this. Again, this is another example of lack of notice, due process, the right to be heard and equal protection. In addition to wiping out the buffer and forest land, this thing will cause permanent damage to private properties. Needless to say, there is no maintenance or repair policy in place for this structure. 

Among the flaws with the development process in this county, one sticks out.  After development permits have been granted, you have only 14 days to respond or else.  Is this what you want? Who does this favor?  How could that ever be fair?  

The developer wants to put 52 units on an area where there are 4 existing homes and forest land which is to be hooked up to a 1,000 foot elevated sewer line. Let it be said this is totally incompatible and injurious to the neighborhood. 

Yes, this could be your neighborhood too, unless...

Do you believe that the county land use codes should be changed and similar codes should be changed, and that we should have protections under law at least equal to developers?

Do you agree the Ambleside Development, PDS #  19 115780SPA of 52 units with a 1,000 foot elevated sewer line should be stopped?
