Matthew Miller started this petition to People of Rowley

Plastic waste is an ever increasing issue in the world, causing land, air, and water pollution. We have the opportunity to have a huge impact in Rowley and its surrounding communities by voting to pass a new town bylaw that will significantly reduce the use of plastic bags in our town.

By shifting away from single use plastic bags to reusable and paper bags, we can ensure that we and future generations will live in a clean environment, for us and for wildlife. For myself and many others living in Rowley, our beautiful natural scenery is one of the most important aspects of living in this town. If we can make just a few small steps in the right direction to protect the forests, fields, rivers, hills, and marshes of our town, we will have a great impact on the present an future character of our town. Swapping plastic bags for alternative options is an easy and achievable goal that we can accomplish!

We will work alongside the businesses and people of Rowley to ensure that everyone's concerns are taken into account to make sure that this bylaw accurately represents the views of the people.

You can sign this petition to show your support and commitment to moving Rowley toward a greener future! Please come to the virtual Board of Selectmen's meeting Monday, March 8th, at 1 PM, where we will discuss the potential for this issue to be addressed.
