Demand for Water Reservoirs from Political Parties as a Top Priority in Election 2018

Pakistan's poor water management policies have lead to water crisis in major areas. Karachi was already suffering from water shortage, now other cities are also suffering from it. This is the high time to demand water reservoirs from our political leaders as the election campaigns are on its peak.

Pakistan has the world’s fourth highest rate of water use but is largely dependent on water from the Indus River basin. Rainfall in the country has been steadily declining, with some experts claiming this is down to climate change.

There are no proper water storage facilities in the country beside few which are already about to reach dead levels. Pakistan hasn’t built new dams since so long. What we see is political bickering over the issue. The authorities need to act now. Pakistanis need to be awaken and urge their leaders to make water reservation as a top priority. We need to learn how to save water. We need to plant trees as much as possible. Only this way we can fight these severe heat waves and water droughts in different areas of Pakistan.
