Dear sir/madam, vizag steel came in reality after a decade struggle of entire Andhra Pradesh people called “visakha ukku- andhrula hakku”. 32 peoples sacrificed their lives in this struggle. 64 villages evacuated and 23,000 acres of land acquired,  15,000 people displaced for a nominal compensation to built vizag steel. Lacks of students lost valuable academic years in early 70’s. Like Sri Venkayya Naidu garu few leaders also made by the movement. After two decades vizag steel started production in 1990. Overcoming many hurdles in early years it came in to profits in 2002 and continued is magical run up to 2015. During this period vizag steel recorded  more than 20,000 crores profit after paying more than 32,000 crores taxes and dividends to both central and state governments. In this process vizag steel created 18,000 permanent and 15,000 contract employment. Another 70,000 people got indirect employment. Almost from every ZPHschool  and every technical institute from entire Andhra Pradesh got employment in Vizag steel. Particularly from north Andhra, thousands got employed. Port city converted in to steel city. Visakhapatnam corporation become Greater Visakha. Lakhs of crores property created in and around vizag. But due to government policies ( not allotting captive mines, going for expansion in wrong time, not giving budgetary support, not increasing capex  limits, not maintaining employees pay ratios, imposing wrong DPE guidelines which are not suitable for process industries like steel sector etc..) and mistakes. Now it’s sustainability came in to danger. Unfortunately after state devision, our government and leaders didn’t owned vizag steel as Andhra Pradesh property. All leaders are busy with inviting  MNC’s to invest in residual Andhra Pradesh from all over the world. Pathetically only PSU giving 30,000 employment directly and 70,000 employment  indirectly placed in  residual  Andhra Pradesh, one and only steel plant came from people’s demand & agitation left as orphan.  Now it is looking for government support. Following steps should be taken immediately.

1) Captive ore mines should be allotted .

  2) 5,000 crores preferential shares should be invested by government of India.        3)  Exemption from 3rd PRC recommendations and proper pay ratio should be maintained among different categories of employees.

I request all Andhra Pradesh people, in particular students and leaders to sign this petition to give Vizag steel for future generations. Long live vizag steel...
