Siddipet (Telangana) Street Dogs Culling

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!

On June 21st & 22nd, Close to 100 Stray Dogs were Poisoned and put to Death, and later disposed by Siddipet Municipal Corporation in Telangana. According to locals, the strays were not of any threat and inconvenience of any Nature. Infact one of locals, spotted that her foster dogs didn't show up and later was shocked to see Dogs tied and disposed by Municipality in Vikarabad.

A case has been filed according to Section 11(1)andC of Prevention of Animals Act and officials related have been suspended. But, I as a staunch canine lover, want the officials to be severely punished and impose strong laws with punishment to anybody who abuses, threaten or brings harm to life of stray Dogs. Such similar cases of mass culling is found to happen in Chennai and Kerala.

According to Section 11(1)C of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, killing any animal (including stray dogs) by using the method of strychnine injections (poisoning) in the heart or in any other unnecessarily cruel manner is a cognizable offence and can attract a simple or rigorous imprisonment for a term, which may extend to two years or with a fine or both.

This petition is solely for the welfare of Stray dogs in India. I request all the Animal Welfare Authorities in India and Law experts protecting Animal Welfare and Animal rights, to join hands and penalize the Siddipet and Vikarabad Municipality in Telangana.
