In an educated state like Kerala, a pregnant elephant  sets out on the streets of Mallapuram in search of food. She is offered pineapple. She eats and trusts humans. She did not know that she was being fed pineapple full of firecrackers. Crackers burst in her mouth. Her mouth and tongue are badly injured.

She could not eat anything because of the injuries in her mouth. Hunger is felt more during pregnancy. She also had to take care of her child. But because of the wound in the mouth she is unable to eat anything. The injured elephant wandered the streets, hungry and aching. Even after this, she does not harm any human being, does not break any house.

Finding the water, she gets into the river, anticipating some relief. When the Forest Department comes to know about this incident, they try to bring her out of the water but the elephant probably understood that its end is near. And after a few hours standing in the river, she dies.

An animal that was once the pride of kings is fighting for its existence today. Where are we heading??

Humanity demands harsh punishment to the guilty and freedom to nature's beloved wildlife.
