Hi everyone, my goal today is to educate people on the inhumane treatment, imprisonment, and murder of lobsters in grocery stores and restaurants. After knowing the information, I am about to tell you, I hope that you will help support this cause and sign my petition to ban this. When I go grocery shopping, I cannot help but notice the lobster tank overcrowded with innocent lobsters awaiting the time that someone will inevitably point to one of them and ask that it be boiled alive. Research studies have supported the idea that they suffer in their final moments and truly do feel pain when they are being boiled alive, they are not even rendered unconscious before this happens.

They prefer living their lives in solitude, but many of them are caught and piled on top of other lobsters in these overcrowded tanks. They are left feeling terrified because there is clearly no way for them to escape. Some places have also been said to starve these lobsters and just leave them piled in the tanks. As if this form of tank imprisonment wasn't enough, it continuously gets worse in other places who have turned this into a game to be played. This is the case in some restaurants as there are lobster claw machines that I will be targeting through this petition as well. People can play this game, grab a lobster with the machine claw, drop it in the chute in which it will then be dropped into boiling water or be cut up into pieces (while it is still alive!!)

Unfortunately, there are not many people who realize the inhumane issues that lobsters face, but they do every day, and it is time that we all make a stand. I will be emailing various corporate offices such as Price Chopper and Red Lobster, in an attempt to convince them that this practice is inhumane. I will be creating a Facebook page to educate others on the issue with a link to follow and I will hopefully be handing out pamphlets in the near future as well. Please watch the video I am attaching too if you have the time, I personally found it very informative and eye opening.
