Most of the travellers might have observed huge amount of garbage lying along the railway tracks almost in every route. I have been observing this from few years whenever I take a train, especially in Chennai - Bangalore - Mysore routes and many others. It is totally unhealthy to get exposed to such dumps, more than 10,000 travel in these routes on daily basis, they all get affected by breathing the toxic air with undesirable gases. It is regretting to say that the passengers in train are the reason for this problem, I always see my co - passengers throwing away food waste and plastics from the window. The garbage is burnt near the tracks once they get accumulated, this is more dangerous to the people in those locality as well. It is one of the greatest source of polluted land, rivers and air. It is a very big threat to the society if not solved.

This problem can be solved only with cooperation from the people and a strong support from the government. This issue is raised because we people are responsible for the problem, the garbage and plastics are thrown out from the passengers in the train; it is mostly the food wrappings biscuit/chips covers, etc.

The kindest request from my side is - avoid throwing any type of wastes from the train, do use dustbins.

A request to the railway department is that to place enough number of dustbins in all the trains and their regular cleaning. Create awareness about this issue and importance of cleanliness to the people and take a step against this issue.

It is a very serious problem across the country and this is the right time to bring the change and save ourselves, or else it would badly affect our health and environment.
