Penzeys: please reuse your spice jars

My family and I have been customers of Penzeys Spices for years. Nothing warms my soul more than walking into one of their stores and being enveloped in the comforting aromas of good spices.
However, disposing of each empty jar saddens me. Yes, I repurpose the jars when I need them or put them in the recycling bin when I don’t. But these dozens of jars, multiplied by thousands of customers, add up to a significant amount of waste every year. Why continue to put materials and energy into making new jars if the old ones could be reused?
For instance, customers could return empty jars to Penzeys stores to be sanitized and reused. Just like we used to do with soda bottles and continue to do with milk bottles. This program would likely be cost-effective for Penzeys, in addition to being much better for the environment!
Please join me in asking Penzeys Spices to investigate the feasibility of a program enabling the reuse of their jars.
