The Dental Hygiene Symposium is put on by the Florida Dental Hygiene Association, which is the state branch of the American Dental Hygiene Association. The symposium is September 26th to 29th and includes 20 hours of continuing education lectures on current topics such as dental therapy and human trafficking. The event includes specialized meetings for students to encourage them in embracing dental hygiene and networking with the most involved and experienced dental hygienists in Florida. There is a unique opportunity for a first-year student to delve into the world of laws and legislation by serving as the student delegate. Our very own dental hygiene program director, Linda Lambert, is a past president of this influential organization.

The class of 2021 dental hygiene students deserve the opportunity to attend this year's Florida Dental Hygiene Symposium in Orlando. This year, the freshman class was denied funding to participate in this event. The symposium is a fantastic learning and networking experience that many classes before were able to attend as freshman dental hygiene students.

We need your help to make this incredible trip happen. Please consider approving the funding our class needs to take part in this experience.
