Wesley Cornerstone started this petition to Pennsylvania State Senate and

House Bill 951 eliminates the statute of limitations and allows anyone who suffered childhood abuse to get justice. The statute of limitations only benefits child abusers. Child abuse is one of the most devastating acts. This is very prevalent with 1 in 7 kids in the USA being abused. The effects of child abuse are felt for a lifetime with those who suffered having high rates of depression, suicide, alcoholism, PTSD, and drug use.

By supporting House Bill 951 you can correct the horrible mistake made by Kathy Brockvar while she oversaw the Department of State. Kathy Brockvar’s incompetence deprived tens of thousands of children abused in Pennsylvania from obtaining justice against their abuser. A Philadelphia Grand Jury Report from 2003, investigating sexual abuse recommended abolishing the statute of limitations. The grand jury stated, “There must be no statute of limitations for childhood abuse, the law must be changed”. The Grand Jury also said, “Statutes of Limitations for crimes involving child abuse would be to reward abusers who choose children, the most defenseless victims”. Again, the statute of limitations only benefits abusers.

Supporting House Bill 951 will send a strong, clear, and unambiguous message demonstrating you stand with all those who suffered childhood abuse and will not let their abusers escape responsibility for destroying their lives. Thank you for your support
