We urge you to fund Along The Way - we are a non-profit organization in Souderton that provides low-income single mothers with high-quality, in-home, free child care during non-traditional hours, when low-income mothers are working as waitresses, grocery store clerks, CNA's etc.

Child care for single mothers is outrageously expensive. In PA, on average, the cost of in-home childcare for two children is 63% of the average single mothers’ income. For a single mom who works a minimum wage job, child care is impossible to pay. Also, only 8% of child care centers offer services after 7pm, overnight, or on the weekend. Free child care for single mothers would be a huge economic benefit. The child care crisis costs the economy $57 billion annually due to lost earnings, productivity, and revenue. The pandemic has made this crisis worse; 29% of single mothers were jobless all of 2020. 

We need your support in helping fund Along the Way where we provide low-income single mothers in PA with free child care during non-traditional hours to ensure that children are safe while women can go to work. More funding means we can expand our services and provide more single moms with free child care!
