Put a Stop Sign at Frankford and Montgomery Avenue

As part of a very popular route between the El train and major neighborhood activity hubs like Shissler and Fishtown Rec Centers, KCAPA and Penn Treaty School, Adaire Elementary, and By My Side and My Bright Beginnings, the intersection of Frankford and Montgomery Avenues in Fishtown sees some of the heaviest pedestrian traffic in our neighborhood.
But the status quo traffic situation at this intersection is unsafe for the thousands of people who cross here every day, which includes many families with young children, seniors, and students walking to school. Reckless drivers often speed through this section of Frankford at unsafe speeds of 40, 50, or even 60 mph. In two separate incidents by this intersection in the last few months, two speeding cars actually flipped over (as pictured above.)
It's time for PennDOT to stop endangering pedestrians at Frankford and Montgomery, and tame traffic for the many thousands of people who need to cross here safely every day.
Sign and share this petition with neighbors and friends who live in this area, and help amplify our push for PennDOT to install stop signs and crosswalks at Frankford and Montgomery.
Bonus points: Leave your street address in the comments when you sign, or at least the number block you live on, so we can prove to PennDOT and Streets officials that there's strong support close by.)
