PennDot has over the past couple of years, gone around threatening volunteer fire departments for their signs they use to advertise their fundraisers. These signs are used as a way of advertising their fundraisers to be able to keep running and pay utilities and pay for training for their volunteers. They have gone after fire departments in Lower Augusta, Herndon, Eleysburg, Numedia, and most recently Montour Township, whoms sign by the way, is far from the road on private property. This needs to stop! Specially with budget cuts from, guess where, the state, the departments need this advertising for their fundraisers and to let the general public know of things.
