Call on Penn State to denounce the Identity Evropa and prevent them from posting on campus

“Identity Evropa”, is a white supremacist group who’s main mission is to incite hate against non-white people in the United States and promote white supremacy. They identify as a “generation of awakened Europeans who 'oppose those who would defame our history and rich cultural heritage”. This group has made it a point to recruit and advertise on college campuses across the county, one of which being my university, The Pennsylvania State University. Yesterday, on September 19, 2017, a student tweeted one of their flyers to Penn State’s Twitter page asking for the flyer to be removed, to which Penn State replied, “Penn State supports the right to free speech even when we may strongly disagree with the opinions expressed“. Penn State, a school that has committed itself to diversity and inclusion through various initiatives such as its “All In” campaign, has a duty to denounce such a group’s actions as well as take all necessary measures to ensure that they cannot recruit for members on this campus. Such a group not only incites hate against many students at this university, but also incites violence. The well-being and lives of many students are at stake when groups such as Identity Evropa are not denounced by our University and today I am calling on The Pennsylvania State University to retract its statement on the tweet that was written yesterday, for President Eric J. Barron to denounce the Identity Evropa group, and for the schools administration to take all necessary action to ensure such groups cannot advertise or recruit on this campus.
