Our communities across the nation depend On Clean Water Act safeguards like those improved by the 2015 Water Of The United States Rule to ensure access to safe drinking water, reduce pollution and protect the destruction of rain-dependent streams, wetlands, and others. We urge the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to uphold the current standards that safeguard our water and the overall health of our communities. Everyone has the right to clean water and our families and communities cannot afford any rollbacks to existing protections. For the last few weeks, residents, and business owners of Pelham have been dealing with pipeline leaks around the city.. Water pressure in parts of the water system has drop dangerously to low levels. When this occurs potential health hazard may exit in these areas of zero pressure from black flow and/or back-siphonage of water of unknown quality into the water. Tainted water can cause diarrhea, cholera, Giardia, Salmonella infection, and E. coli infection. The citizen of Pelham was not informed in a timely manner about the water being contaminated. Some residents was without water for hours and was hit with a high water bill to pay!!!!!!!
