The Pekin City Council will be voting on September 14th, 2020 to approve or deny a resolution to purchase Body Cameras, Tasers, and other Video Equipment. 

Body cameras can serve as an important stepping stone to holding officers accountable for their actions. The Body Cameras that the City Council will be voting on have the following features:

• Full Shift, 12-14 hour battery life
• Configurable pre-event buffer, with a looping 30 second record.
• Auto-activates all video systems at once, so that turning on car lights will immediately start camera or when a side arm or taser is drawn.
• Activates all Axon cameras in the immediate area, if another officer turns on their camera other officer body cameras will turn on. 
• Automatic Uploads.
• Human Field of view: will not show anything more than what an officer could see.
