When it comes to the care of an intact penis The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) clearly states, "Until the foreskin fully separates, do not try to pull it back. Forcing the foreskin to retract before it is ready can cause severe pain, bleeding, and tears in the skin." Sadly many pediatricians are misinforming parents and telling them to gently retract when cleaning. This is outdated information and could cause damage! Pediatricians must be updated - intact don’t retract!
