Emily Wilson wilson started this petition to Pedestrian crossing/speed bumps on Cranleigh Road (B2128 outside Wonersh Park)

There have been multiple severe road accidents  in the last few years as people drive far too fast down the hill on Cranleigh Road into Wonersh Village (past Wonersh Park).

There is a large community,  including elderly and young children, who are unable to comfortably cross the road, get to school, visit the playground or village safely to complete their daily tasks (including the doctor and the local pharmacy).

Due to all of these recent incidents, combined with the overgrown bushes along the already extremely narrow pavement, large numbers of people are choosing to drive instead of walk into the village, creating further traffic, because they do not feel safe walking this stretch of road.

We, as a community, feel strongly that new measures needs to be put in place; at a very minimum a pedestrian crossing in the village but also ideally traffic calming measures such as speed bumps and/ or speed cameras placed at opportune locations along the road to slow down traffic to prevent any further incidents where people could be seriously injured.
