Thank you to everyone who signed. We won our battle for this page but the war is not over. Be aware of mental health needs and know that you are loved.

I did not personally know Hannah but as someone who struggled with demons of their own I am horrified that we cannot honor one of our own because of how this beautiful soul passed.

This week we lost a fellow Pearland Oiler, Hannah Hollis.  Our administration and the district will not allow the yearbook staff to create an "In Memoriam" page due to the circumstances regarding her death.  The stigmas surrounding mental illness have never been more prevalent in our school that right now.  Because of these stigmas we cannot honor our fellow classmate, athlete, and most of all friend.  Not only will this page allow her friends and family to see that we are united as a student body behind them through these difficult times, it will also bring awareness to those who suffer in silence as Hannah did.  Through this page the yearbook staff hopes to honor her beautiful life rather than romanticize her death.  Hannah's death was a tradgedy her life was a blessing.  Help the yearbook staff to achieve their goal, with permission of her loved ones, by signing this petition, you are not voiceless. Hannah was one of us and we should honor her life regardless of how it ended.

I encourage you to not only sign this petition but to share this on your social media, share it with friends, family, coworkers, anyone who will listen.  Any type of support counts and is appreciated.
